My very first piece of “real” jewelry was given to me by my aunt when I was eight as a gift for being a flower-girl in her wedding. It was a tiny gold heart with an even tinier opal inside of it. I still have the ring today but can only wear it now as a knuckle ring. With vintage opal rings becoming more and more prevalent as a staple in any jewelry addicts collection, I find myself once again being memorized by this beautiful stone. Here are some gorgeous pieces I’ve stumbled upon:
If I could buy any opal ring I wanted right now, this one would be it! 18k gold and platinum, sapphires, rose cut diamonds, and a stunning center opal make up this one-of-a-kind 1920’s stunner. I’ve recently purchased a ring from The One I Love and was extremely happy with the quality and condition of my vintage piece. Maybe I’ll have to be a repeat customer 😉
I’m totally smitten with this sweet opal and pearl gold Victorian ring which would look so lovely in a stack (as well as on it’s own).
Framed by sapphires and diamonds, this vintage Australian opal cluster ring from one of my favorite eBay sellers has me drooling every time I look at the photos! Bidding ends on Monday 1/12.
Snakes are my absolute favorite motif in jewelry and this 1970’s rose gold snake ring I’ve been watching on eBay is mighty tempting to buy. The opal and rubies are a more recent addition but these stones were the perfect selection to complete this truly unique piece.
This would make one hell of an engagement ring!! Circa 1905, this platinum ring holds 1.72 carats of diamonds and features the most spectacular black opal cabochon I have ever seen.
Looking for something lovely and shiny to give your favorite jewelry addict this holiday season? Don’t want to spend more than $100? Here are some of my favorite pieces I’ve stumbled upon while surfing the interweb.
This architectural Tetrahdron Necklace is the perfect petite layering piece. Available as a limited edition from Elaine Ho and made of brass on an oxidized sterling silver chain. Just $40! Anyone want to buy me one?!

Handmade in Austin by Claire S. Buck, these badass Carnelian Horn Earrings are so edgy. Available at Crown Nine. $92.
Check out Break A Stone on Etsy. Her beautiful ancient inspired works of art are handcrafted in Greece. I love these Moroccan style cuff bracelets…and I love mixing my metals! Available in yellow bronze (approx $45), white bronze (approx $47), and sterling silver (approx $70). Almost everything in her shop is under $100 but if you’re placing an order outside of Europe then allow for at least 12 business days for shipping.
I’m a huge Pamela Love fan and have several of her pieces in my own collection. On the left is the gorgeous Luna Ring available in bronze with your choice of onyx or moonstone for $100. The Tribal Spike Midi Ring on the right comes in yellow gold or rose gold and is perfect alone or in a stack for $98. I think I may need to get one in yellow gold for myself. Also available in sterling silver for $92 at Bona Drag.
Check out some of my other favorite jewelers with stunning pieces under and around $100:

GemAntics is getting a total make-over and what better way to launch my new look than with a Lust List?! My tastes are ever-evolving as is my passion for beautiful jewels and the artists who create them. My life-long love affair with jewelry began with rings so it’s only fitting to start where this relationship began.
Over the summer I tried on the Mondrian Ring from Elizabeth and James and fell head over heels. The entire Signature Collection was designed in collaboration with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Made of 22k gold vermeil and white topaz. Size 7 if anyone is looking to get me a Christmas present (she hints subtly).
Can’t get enough of this drool-worthy Greta Ring from Selin Kent. Open-shanked triangle ring comes in 14k yellow, rose, or white gold. The diamond accents are just delicious. Perfect addition to your stack or a timeless contemporary stand-alone piece.
The Hands Ring from Anthony Lent’s Muse Collection is the definition of jewelry addict. All hail this juicy lavender chalcedony held up for the world to see by sculptural 18k yellow gold hands adorned with diamonds and rubies.
